The FiDT - Technology and Start-up Center Kassel is a central contact point for technology-oriented, young companies and scale-ups in the North Hesse region. Since its foundation, it has established itself as Important location for innovation and economic development established. Background and sponsorship
With Wirtschaftsförderung Region Kassel was commissioned by the shareholders in 2022 to develop the Management task at the FiDT Technology and Start-up Center in Kassel. The center was established with financial support from the state of Hesse and the European Union. Supported by the City of Kassel, Kasseler Sparkasse, IHK Kassel, HWK Kassel and the University of KasselFiDT pursues the goal of supporting technology-oriented companies during their start-up and growth phase.

The FiDT offers a comprehensive infrastructurewhich is tailored to the needs of founders and young companies. There are currently around 90 main tenants from various fields of technology such as information and communication technology, environment, transport, energy, employment, social affairs, health and business-oriented services are based at FiDT. In addition, there are four service partners who complement the range of services.
A total area of 9,000 square meters will be available:
- 6,500 m² office space
- 500 m² technical center area
- 2,000 m² storage space
- 250 m² of event and conference space
Success stories and jobs
The FiDT Technology and Start-up Center currently houses over 600 workplaces available. More than 150 of these jobs are in companies that are in the start-up phase. These figures underline the importance of the FiDT as a catalyst for Economic dynamics in the region.
Start-up network and cooperations
The FiDT stands for a Strong network of around 100 founders, companies and start-ups as well as around 30 service and network partners. This network offers founders an ideal environment in which to benefit from cooperation and exploit synergies. The close cooperation with the University of Kassel also promotes the transfer of knowledge and the implementation of innovative ideas in practice.
EU project: Green Energy Management Systems - GEMS
The Interreg NWE project GEMS - Green Energy Management Systems for Business Parks - is researching modern energy management systems (EMS) in an international consortium in order to optimize the energy consumption of European industrial parks.
