Kassel-Waldau industrial estate

The Kassel-Waldau industrial estate as a part of the Industrial Parks Kassel is an important commercial area in northern Hesse and a Central hub for logistics, trade and production. With a total area of 230 hectares it is the largest and highest-turnover industrial and commercial area in the Kassel region. Its strategic location and continuous development make it an indispensable location for companies from a wide range of sectors.

Historical development and location advantages

The Kassel-Waldau-West industrial estate, the oldest part of the Industrial Parks Kassel, was created at the end of the 1970s on the grounds of the former airfield in the south-east of the city of Kassel. In the decades that followed, numerous companies settled here, many of which abandoned their previous locations within the city of Kassel due to the need to expand.

Today, the Waldau industrial estate more than 200 companies located hereincluding companies in the manufacturing, wholesale, logistics and service sectors. They benefit from the central location, excellent connections and strong regional networks.

With Sustainable design of the Kassel-Waldau industrial estate is the focus of numerous corporate and municipal projects. One of these urban projects is the "Waldau Industrial Park climate neutrality transformation plan"which was dated from summer 2023 to summer 2025. As part of the project, the city of Kassel researched which infrastructural measures are necessary to establish climate neutrality at the level of the Kassel-Waldau industrial estate. Companies were supported in identifying energy potential, synergies with other companies were created and Workshops and presentations on future topics how the power supply is organized.

Location of the Kassel-Waldau industrial estate

The area is located in the East of Kassel conveniently located near the A7, A44 and A49 highways and the B83 federal highway. The Proximity to the Freight center Kassel ensures an excellent connection to the rail network, making logistics efficient for local companies.
