KOOP Quarter in Kassel-Unterneustadt
The KOOP Quarter in Kassel-Unterneustadt is an ambitious land development projectaimed at transforming what was once a purely commercial site into an urban mixed-use district. Located on Kassel’s harbor basin, the approximately 1.5-hectare site at Hafenstraße 76 offers a unique setting close to the Fulda River, not far from Kassel city center, and with excellent access to the A7 motorway.
Historical context and previous use
The site of the KOOP Quarter has a long history as a location for trade and commerce. Originally, the area was used by the Cassel consumer and savings association and later used the Trading company Coop.
