Transformation Network Kassel Region (tregks)
In Times of disruptive change Almost all branches of industry are facing challenges such as the Climate change, the Securing the workforce and the entrepreneurial focus on more Sustainability are confronted with. The mobility industry, to which great importance is attributed in the Kassel region, is also affected to a large extent. The Transformation Network Kassel Region (tregks for short) brings stakeholders together and offers an exchange platform for specialists and decision-makers.

The aim of the collaboration is to strengthen Kassel economic region characterized by the automotive industry a sustainable and innovative technology and production location for the mobility industry and beyond with climate-friendly claim to transform the region. The regional CompetitivenessThe aim is to secure value creation and employment in the long term and to increase the prosperity of the region.
Mobility industry in the Kassel region strongly affected by change
After the industrial revolution at the beginning of the 19th century and in the course of the 20th century led to high industrial turnover in the areas of mechanical engineering, heavy industry and the automotive industry, the Kassel region grew strongly as a result. During and after the Second World War, companies such as Henschel & Sohn, Hübner, Volkswagen and Mercedes Benz shaped the working world in Kassel. With the increasing importance of environmental and climate protection, the local vehicle industry facing a transformation process.
Against this backdrop, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) launched a Study commissioned, which shows that the Kassel region is one of the five regions most affected by the automotive transition in Germany counts.

Milestones and (workshop) formats of the tregks
Stakeholders have already been able to realize initial successes during the project, which have contributed to the Establishment of a holistic transformation strategy for the automotive industry.
Since the start of the project in January 2023 regular cooperation with our consortium partners and partners from business and politics many milestones achieved to date which are listed in the drop-down menu below. The network offers its members a Variety of (workshop) formats as well as visibility measures such as video storytelling to get closer to the common goal.
